Wardrobe Planning – Activity

by SaraD on June 10, 2011

Letter blocks spelling out One of the things to look at in planning a wardrobe is what am I actually going to DO in these clothes? What are my activities during the day? During the week? What do I spend most of my time doing? What do I do occasionally? What kind of clothes work best for these different activities?

The wardrobe planning books understandably focus on business attire. But what if I’m chasing toddlers all day? I still want to look good. So I put together a worksheet to help think through what those activities might be and what kinds of clothes might be needed.

You can download the worksheet and try it out. Let me know what you think.

One of the things I realized is that when I work at a desk, I really don’t like wearing a blazer jacket. The sleeves just get in my way and get caught on papers on my desk. So I tend to wear sweaters and knit jackets with narrow sleeves.

And special occasions… Those are far and few between in my life, but when I do need to dress up, I look for something with long sleeves because I tend to get cold easily.

The worksheet also helped me see how I spend my time and what types of clothes I need for those activities. I’d love to hear your feedback.

This is certainly a marvelous write-up. Thanks a ton for taking the time to explain all of this out for us. It is a great help!
